Backup and upgrade

Backup

Control plane:

• POST /api/v1/projects/{id}/backup — project export
• GET /api/v1/backups — inventory
• POST /api/v1/backups/preflight — restore preflight
• POST /api/v1/backups/restore — restore

Scheduled backup: VION_BACKUP_DIR, VION_BACKUP_INTERVAL_SECS, VION_BACKUP_KEEP (default 7), optional VION_BACKUP_PASSWORD.

Studio Deployment has a Backup panel. In-place restore UI may be incomplete; the API exists.

Upgrade checklist

1. Take a backup (VION_BACKUP_* or manual export).
2. Update Compose / binaries.
3. Migrations apply automatically when the control plane starts.
4. Apply system settings or supervised restart if restartRequired.

If the snapshot schema version mismatches, the runtime rejects the load; publish and activate again.
