Type

Members: name, data type, unit, holding offset (Modbus). Faceplate flag produces label + value per member.

Single-level nested typeRef leaves are read-only on the faceplate. Deeper nest UI, multi-select, and import/export are not available.

Instance

Name, type, protocol, member override.

Both bindings at once or the wrong protocol are rejected. Host/port live on the catalog connection.

On publish, the compiler expands type+instance into tags and a faceplate screen. Studio edits the raw type faceplate; runtime draws the expanded screen.
