vion.toml

Server configuration is a flat TOML file (no nested [section]). Keys use env style (VION_DATABASE_URL = "...").

Precedence

environment → file → default

1. If env is set → source Env, field locked (locked: true)
2. Else the file key
3. Else the SettingDef default

At process start, file values are injected into the process env only when env is unset so legacy from_env readers keep working.

Writes are atomic (.bak backup). Header comment:

Apply and restart

Admin PUT /api/v1/system/settings + POST /api/v1/system/apply. Most settings need Restart. With VION_RESTART_POLICY=supervised the process exits 75 and the supervisor restarts it.

Hot fields are limited (e.g. VION_COMMAND_REASON_REQUIRED, some OIDC/webhook/log fields).
